About Tucson, Arizona

Tucson (pronounced too-sawn), with almost a million
inhabitants, has been southern Arizona's leading city for over two hundred
years.
It spreads across a mountain-ranged basin at the
northern limits of the
Sonoran Desert. Tucson embraces rather than denies the desert, eschewing
lawns and fountains in favor of the authentic landscapes of
Sabino
Canyon, the Arizona-Sonoran
Desert Museum, and the cactus-strewn hillsides of
Saguaro National
Park. Tucson is home of The
University of Arizona, which enrolls almost 40,000 students.
